All licensed RCFE's are required to have a fitness program (Title 22 Section 87579) that
develops and maintains strength, coordination and range of
movement. (When your RCFE has 6 or less beds you will not
be required to post a calendar of events, but you are required
to offer a program.)
This course will introduce you to some of the terminology
and basic aspects of developing a program designed to maintain
strength, coordination and range of movement. You will gain
insight on how to develope a personalized plan for your residents that is focused on strengths, abilities and interests.
A subtitle to this course is Resident Retention Program because
this course also focuses on keeping our residents at their
current level of functioning for as long as possible. This may delay
their need to move-out to a higher level of care. It can also
keep both the resident and his family happy and satisfied;
it is a great customer service program benefit.
