In the U.S. about 28 million people,
most of them over the age of 65, have poor hearing. Statistics vary, but it is
probably safe to say that one-quarter to one-third of people
over 60 and about half of people over 85 have hearing problems.
Many of those people do not admit it. It has been estimated
that 75% of people who could benefit from a hearing aid are
not using one. And yet people with a hearing loss are truly
handicapped. This course will help you learn the causes of
hearing loss and ways you can learn to help someone who has
hearing impairment. |
